2023 BLOOM
The almond bloom is massive throughout the Central Valley, where almonds are one of the main crops.
In February 2023 The BLOOM Has started in earnest – trees are putting on a spectacular show. In January the Bud set looked outstanding.
With the recent sunshine and all the rain in January, flowers are in full, glorious, fragrant, bloom all across the valley. There was some deep water penetration in all orchards from our January storms.
The California trees look very healthy overall. In a few more weeks these orchards will be buzzing and humming as the pollination begins.
The 2022 Annual Snow Survey Report was an Arduous task and your team from Summit was up to the challenge! Alex Lindsey, Matt Roy and myself made the journey into the mountains on Monday December 19, 2022.
WINTER 2022/2023 SNOW REPORT
Greeting from Summit!
We trekked to the North Lake Tahoe area to survey the Snow Pact. During the month of December approximately 8-9 feet of Snow has been received! It is an excellent start to the Season for the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We would like to receive another 10-20 feet between now and April to assist our water needs in California. We encountered one hiccup during the survey as Matt Roy was negotiating on his cell phone with a partner in Europe and his phone fell from the chair lift into the powdery snow below! Fortunately, we were able to track down the phone after digging through the snow and the deal was completed.
